About The Rock Youth Project

The Rock Youth Project has been supporting and empowering young people since 2007 and it’s grown into something really special. What started at Currock Community Centre moved to our base on Scalegate Road in 2014, and by 2019 we’d expanded again, opening a second club in Petteril Bank.

Now, we’re proud to welcome over 50 young people, five nights a week, into a space that’s all about feeling safe, being yourself, and having a voice.

The Rock isn’t just somewhere to hang out it’s a place where young people can build confidence, try new things, make real friendships, and feel supported no matter what’s going on in their lives. It’s their space, their community, their future.

Our Mission

We’re here to empower young people across Carlisle, especially in communities where opportunities can be limited.

At The Rock, you’ll always find:

  • A safe space where you can be yourself

  • Fun, creative activities that actually feel exciting

  • Supportive youth workers who listen, care, and have your back

Our Vision

We want every young person in Carlisle and beyond to have access to youth work that inspires, supports, and empowers them to be their best selves. No matter where you come from, you deserve opportunities, support, and a place to belong.

Our Aims

Everything we do is about helping young people grow, feel empowered, and make positive choices. We aim to:

  • Work alongside the police, local organisations, and youth services to strengthen the community

  • Help young people explore new possibilities and believe in their potential

  • Give young people the knowledge and support they need to make informed, safe decisions

  • Track progress and celebrate how far each young person has come

  • Keep young people safe and supported at all times
