Project Manager 

PLACE OF WORK:           The Rock, Scalegate Road, CA2 4JY

POST TITLE:                    Project Manager

SALARY:                          £15 PER HOUR

HOURS:                            25 Hours per week 

RESPONSIBLE TO:          Board of Trustees

PURPOSE OF JOB:                   

  • Deliver quality youthwork to young people aged 7-19 years old.
  • Manage staff and volunteers effectively
  • Develop and enhance The Rock Youth Project
  • Manage day to day running of The Rock Youth Project and site
  • Build relationships and work in partnership with other agencies in the city.
  • Apply for further funding for the project to be sustainable.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Plan a youthwork curriculum that meets the needs of the young people as well as funding targets.
  • Managing and supervising staff and volunteers
  • Recruit and induct new volunteers and staff members
  • To promote and maintain exemplary levels of professionalism amongst the staff team
  • Financial management including budgeting and accounting.
  • To manage resources effectively
  • To uphold all safeguarding legislation and be the designated safeguarding lead.
  • Manage successful delivery of all aspects of this project, including monitoring service level agreements and the budgets
  • Managing relationships across delivery partnerships and also maintaining networks locally.
  • Ensuring that all policies are implemented correctly and are up to date
  • To keep up-to-date with legislation and government initiatives affecting youth work
  • Write management reports to the Board of Trustees covering the development of the project.
  • Write funding bids and fundraise to ensure continuation of The Rock
  • Conduct health and safety inspections including risk assessments.
  • To undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are commensurate with the general level of this post and as directed by the board of trustees.

Youth Worker

Post Title:                                         Youth Worker

Salary:                                               £9.50 per hour

Responsible to:                              The Rock Board

Responsible for:                       This post is not directly responsible for any staff. However,

there may be times when you will be required to provide support to volunteers.

Report to:                                       Youthwork Manager

Purpose of job:

To support the delivery of the youth programme in Carlisle South that enriches and educates those who take part. To ensure that The Rock is a fun and safe place to be.

Key Responsibilities:

To undertake the direct delivery of quality youthwork, to build appropriate relationships with young people to enable them to meet their potential.

Operational Responsibilities

Delivering quality youthwork to all age young people

Managing behaviour according to our behaviour policy.

Work with vulnerable young people

Monitoring and evaluations of sessions

Ensuring health and safety requirements are met

Assessing the needs of young people and planning accordingly

Planning a youthwork curriculum

Delivering school holiday provision including trips as required

Attending training as and when required

Working in partnership with other agencies

Administration tasks associated with sessions

Signpost and refer young people to services to increase their support network which will improve their overall outcomes

Work within The Rock’s policies and procedures to ensure safe outcomes for all our young people. To actively contribute to team meetings, share skills and knowledge and support colleagues across the organisation.
